I hear that Frank Somers, the leading Stonehenge Druid, has recently been interviewed by the Heritage Key site, which recently carried a report on Bluestonehenge by the writer and Egyptologist Charlotte Booth. Perhaps the planned celebrations for my impending 50th birthday are making me aware of my advanced age, but I couldn’t help noticing that Charlotte was born at around the time I was applying to study Egyptology and this was long before Raiders of the Lost Ark came out. Still, she’s made a far better job of her Egyptological studies than I ever did, so I wish her the best of luck.
Otherwise, I understand that Frank spoke at some length about the Reburial Issue, so I look forward to watching the filmed interviews and hearing what Frank has to say, although I must admit that I’m baffled that such a high profile and contentious subject as this hasn’t already been the centre of a radio or television discussion before now. For what it’s worth, I think there’s an overwhelming case for the reburial of the ancestors at Stonehenge, but I’ll wait to hear what Frank has to say on the subject before I offer anything further.
For my part, I was honoured and flattered today when Red Ice Creations asked to interview me; as you can see from the above link, Red Ice are a top quality and innovative company that broadcasts across Europe from the West of Sweden, one of my favourite countries on the planet. I’ve been invited to speak for an hour on The Missing Years of Jesus, a subject I’ve had to neglect recently on this site, but that’s most certainly not for want of original material.
I’ve also been invited to speak or to be interviewed for an hour on Stonehenge, so I’m looking forward to this and it is a huge honour to be a guest of such people as Henrik, Fredrik and Elizabeth.
Finally, for now, I was very sorry to hear of the death of Sir Ludovic Kennedy, a man I’d admired for a long time for many reasons. If anyone’s interested in reading a truly masterly study and analysis of a ‘modern mystery’, then I can’t recommend highly enough his book on 10 Rillington Place, while it sadly seems that our great thinkers are leaving us at a rapid rate.

On the subject of those to pass over, which is something we do at Samhain incidentally, the writer of the Addams Family theme tune has also passed away. I did not catch his name on the radio when I heard this, but he was responsible for many TV themes that I remember fondly from my childhood. A gifted man. A bard.
